The first weekend of the NCAA Tournament not only gave us plenty of television to watch, but plenty of upsets as well. Duke and Villanova, two teams many projected could win it all, were both bounced in the round of 32. That leaves the door wide open for a team to swoop in and make a surprise run at the Final Four and perhaps beyond.

According to the experts at Sportsline, North Carolina, Kansas and Arizona are considered the favorites to win it all.

But if you’re looking for a good value pick that isn’t a favorite, take a gander down the line at Gonzaga and Kentucky. The Zags have been disrespected nationally all season, yet this is the most complete team Mark Few has coached. They are two wins away from the Final Four, which would be a first in program history. The Zags have 7/1 odds to win the title.

Kentucky might be a more appealing choice for this reason: John Calipari is 50-16 in the NCAA Tournament with six Final Fours and a national title to his name. At 8/1, the Wildcats have NBA talent littered across the roster, and while they have not been dominant in the tournament, that has been the calling card for this team all season. The Cats win tight games, they have a superstar coach, and multiple future NBA first-rounders. For that reason alone, it makes betting on Kentucky worth a closer look.
