Dodgers rookie slugger Cody Bellinger came into Saturday night’s game against the Marlins with a 2017 slash line of .261/.341/.613 and 25 home runs in 71 games (LAD-MIA GameTracker). Then he went out and hit for the cycle.

In the first, he singled. In the third, he did this …

Speaking of which …

Anyhow, in the fourth he doubled, and in the sixth he ripped the clinching triple …

With that, he became the first rookie in Dodger history to hit for the cycle (and they’ve had some good rookies, you know). At this writing, Bellinger is batting .272/.350/.642. He’s steadily moved beyond “NL Rookie of the Year front-runner” all the way to “serious NL MVP candidate.”
