Game 1 of the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees is underway at Minute Maid Park. The 2019 ALCS is a rematch of the 2017 series, which Houston won in seven games. The Astros sent right-hander Zack Greinke to the mound and Masahiro Tanaka got the nod for the Yankees.between the
First pitch came shortly after 8 p.m. ET, and both Greinke and Tanaka traded zeroes in the early going. The Yankees struck for the game’s first run in the fourth inning. DJ LeMahieu opened the frame with a single, then scored on a Gleyber Torres double, giving New York a 1-0 lead. Tanaka, meanwhile, kept the Astros off the scoreboard (and limited them to one hit) through the first five innings.
