Eight people were killed and over 40 were injured on Sunday during a frightening wall collapse at a stadium in Senegal, according to BBC. At Demba Diop stadium in Dakar, where Stade de Mbour and Union Sportive Ouakam were playing in the league cup final, fights broke out between rival fans, with police responding by using tear gas. That led to panic and stampede, which caused one of the walls in the stadium to collapse with many trapped underneath.

At least 49 people were injured in addition to those who died, and it’s another dark day for the sport. In February, 17 people were killed during a stampede at a match in Angola.
